Snack pouches · granola, chips, nuts, candy
Custom snack pouches: one design per flavor, digitally printed.
Request a snack pouch proposalA snack line lives on its variants. Digital printing gives every flavor its own front without a plate per design, while the pouch keeps its size, zipper and structure. This page gathers what a chip, granola or nut brand decides before requesting a proposal, including the label space each market requires.

Six decisions before you quote a snack pouch
Start with the product: what the pouch protects matters more than the finish.
- 01
Format
Stand-up with zipper for 100 g to 500 g packs that are opened several times; three-side seal or sachet for single portions of 25 g to 60 g; pillow bag (flow pack) only if you already run a packing machine. For most small brands the stand-up with zipper is the starting point.
- 02
Size per portion
Define the fill weight per pack and ask for a reference size for each. Puffed snacks and granola take a lot of volume per gram; nuts and seeds, little. The pouch is validated by filling samples, not with a render.
- 03
Barrier for the product
Nuts and seeds go rancid with oxygen and light; fried snacks and cookies lose crunch to moisture; gummies and candy need moisture and sometimes aroma control. The structure (metallised, aluminium or clear high-barrier) is chosen for those sensitivities and the shelf life you want.
- 04
Window and finish
A clear window shows the product and helps on shelf, but lowers the barrier and the light protection. Matte, gloss or kraft are brand decisions; per-flavor artwork can change the whole background color while keeping the same structure.
- 05
Label rules and warning marks
In Mexico, NOM-051 requires front-of-pack warning seals printed on the label, not stickers, plus the denomination, net content, lot, expiry and nutrition declaration. In the US and Canada the labelling rules differ. Reserve the space from the dieline; when artwork changes per flavor, the label content may change too.
- 06
Barcode
For retail, an EAN-13 or UPC needs a minimum height and clear quiet zones on both sides; GS1 publishes the size ranges. Place it on a light background in a flat zone, away from the gusset and zipper, and verify it scans on a printed proof.
Reference snack formats
A starting point by product type; size and structure are confirmed with filled samples.
| Format | Used for | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Stand-up with zipper, 100 to 250 g | Granola, nuts, trail mix, resealable candy | Bottom gusset so it stands; zipper above the tear notch |
| Stand-up with zipper, 300 to 500 g | Family size and online sales | Check the filled pouch stands without bowing; flat-bottom if heavier |
| Three-side seal, 25 to 60 g | Single portions, promotions, samples | One main face; mandatory label elements take proportionally more room |
| Small sachet | Single servings and tastings | Very small faces follow special labelling provisions in Mexico; plan the front early |
What we will not assume
We do not publish a universal minimum, price or turnaround. Size, barrier, window, zipper, number of flavors and production availability change the proposal. Your product's classification under the labelling rules is decided by the brand with its advisor; we check that the artwork respects the space.
What we need to prepare your proposal
Four facts are enough to start; final artwork can wait.

Questions snack brands ask
Can each flavor have a different design?
Yes, that is the natural use of digital printing: artwork changes per design without plates. For flavors to share production they must match in size, structure and closure; tell us how many pouches you want of each.
Can warning seals go on a sticker in Mexico?
No: NOM-051 requires seals and legends printed on the label. Design the front with the seals from the start and version it per flavor when the classification changes.
Which pouch keeps snacks crunchy?
Fried and baked snacks lose texture to moisture; look for a moisture barrier and good seals. If they also carry fat, an oxygen and light barrier prevents rancidity. The structure is confirmed with your product.
Clear window, yes or no?
It shows the product and helps sell on shelf, but lowers barrier and light protection. It is usually avoided for nuts and fatty products; for candy with a long shelf life it can work.
What changes with NOM-051 phase 3?
The Acuerdo of 31 July 2025 extended phase 2 to 31 December 2027 and set phase 3 to start on 1 January 2028. Designing the front with seal space makes it easier to version artwork when the evaluation changes.
How many pouches can I order?
It depends on the format, the structure and available production. Tell us your target quantity per flavor and we review it instead of promising a generic minimum.
Tell us what you are packing.
We turn the product, quantity per design and open questions into a reviewed proposal, not an automatic price that ignores the specification.
